![]() Plagueclaw Catapult: An artillery piece you’ll be getting familiar with for most of the early game. Their main selling point is their ability to fire whilst moving, use Stalk, and depending on the type they can stealth quite close to enemy troops without them ever knowing they were there. Some of them start off a little expensive, but through Skill Upgrades, this can be brought down. Within these are sub-classes that are either melee or ranged. There are three main variants, the Gutter Runners, Death Runners, and Night Runners. Runners: Runners are a great mid-game unit type to use. Although, these big boys are very squishy so avoid head-on hits and keep them moving as they'll collapse if they get pinned. Plus their mutant variant is a single-model powerhouse of pain. Their Armour Piercing and Frenzy stats make them ideal for taking down slow, heavy factions like Dwarves, Chaos, and the Empires Steam Tanks. Rat Ogres: The musclebound hulks of the battlefield, Rat Ogres can steamroll through ranks of soldiers smaller than them. Plus, any soldier caught in their deluge of warp shard bullets is inflicted with a Suppressed debuff, which drastically slows movement speed and allows more rounds to chip away at the chunkiest of health bars. Though they are very vulnerable to melee, their ability to hide in forests makes them ambush masters. These chaingun sporting rodents are the penultimate ranged options for the Ratmen and they absolutely chew through advancing infantry with their high rate of fire and armor penetrating rounds. Ratling Guns: Skaven with Gatling guns, enough said really. Which, will either regen some of the creature's health, or spawn a pack of Skaven on its position when it finally dies as a final thumb in the eye. This amalgamation of rats and other creatures fused together is a high damage dealing beast that regenerates, has over 360 armor piercing damage, routes soldiers fast, and comes with the Too Horrible to Die perk. Hell Pit Abomination: The biggest monster in the Skaven bestiary, the Hell Pit Abomination is the stuff of nightmares come to life. It’s relatively fast firing, has very long range, counts as anti-large, and is armor piercing. This far-reaching doomsday weapon is one of the top five best artillery weapons in the game for a reason. They had Ikkit Claw work his maniacal mechanical magic in his workshops and his results were weapons like the Warplightning Cannon. ![]() Warplightning Cannon: When it comes to artillery, the Skaven don’t mess around.
